Australian prime minister Malcolm Turnbull's coalition government lost its 29th straight Newspoll today
The result of the widely watched poll means that Turnbull is one loss away from a symbolic 30th straight loss - which is one of the reasons cited in his toppling of former prime minister Tony Abbott.
Although Turnbull is trying to play down the matter, Abbott had earlier in the month say that the same rules should apply to Turnbull as it did to him.
The result of the poll shows that the Liberal-Nation coalition is trailing the opposition Labor Party by 47-53.
Not really good news for Turnbull as he is trying to push out corporate tax cuts through parliament currently. But he has ruled out calling for an early election in any case. The next Australian election is due in 2019.
