Canadian Robert Schellenberg was detained by Chinese authorities in December 2014, charged with drug smuggling.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison in the country. He appealed and on review his sentence was changed to execution. A Chinese court today rejected his appeal against the death sentence.
The case is entangled with Canada's detention of Meng Wanzhou, daughter of Huawei's founder.
