It's been 10 years since my favourite band released a recording
I know exactly where I was 10 years ago. On May 2, 2006, the album 10,000 Days was released and I was at HMV buying it. I spent the rest of the day listening to it.

I know this is way off topic but Tool is my favourite band and I've spent a lot of time trading forex and writing posts listening to their music.
I'm mean, 10 years, c'mon.
Supposedly they're "hard at work" on a new album but at best it's still months away at best. They've blamed all kinds of things for delays including a lawsuit and other projects but there is absolutely no way it can take that long to make a dozen songs.
The Beatles entire discography -- 12 albums -- was released in just over seven years. The gap between Guns and Roses' Appetite for Destruction and Use Your Illusions was just over four years (although Chinese Democracy took 15 years).
10,000 Days was the last CD I ever bought and it was amazing. At the time, the iPhone was still more than a year away, Facebook was still restricted to students. US housing shorts were still getting killed by the carry. Japan was the only country doing quantitative easing
Here's one thing that hasn't changed: Ten years ago today, the Australian dollar was almost exactly where it is today.
