The dollar is steadier with narrow ranges prevailing for the most part in European morning trade. Traders are not having much to work with, settling for a bit of a breather after the US data yesterday. For today, the focus stays on that again with the release of the PCE price index for August coming up later.
The antipodes are lagging slightly but even then it's nothing to shout about with the moves being under 15 pips. As for other dollar pairs, it's a real snoozefest with changes below 0.1% so far on the session.
That said, the lackadaisical mood is not just contained within major currencies. US futures are also flat on the day and the bond market likewise with no real change of note in yields. Meanwhile, gold is also flat at $3,750 currently.
It's all to play for before the end of the week, with the US PCE data later to help set the tone for what we might get before the weekend.
