Trump has covered a number of topics in his comments. Speaks a little on the Witkoff and Kushner meting with Putin:
- Reasonable good meeting
- We'll see what happens
- What comes out of meeting I can't tell you
- Putin wants to end the war
Nothing substantive here. I guess there are a number of alternatives:
- Trump may be playing his cards close to his chest and not telling us much deliberately;
- Trump may genuinely not have much of a clue about what went down;
- Putin may have outplayed the US, again.
Oil traders are paying careful attention to developments re potentially ending Russia's war on Ukraine. If some sort opf peace can come about it'll likely release more oil into markets.

Added, an alternative take on the meeting from Putin's aide Ushakov :
- territorial issue is the most important for us, and for the Americans, as well
- a compromise option hasn't been found yet
- some American developments look more or less acceptable. But they need to be discussed. Some of the wording that we were offered doesn't work for us.
