Oil is quickly lower by $1 on these headlines and now flat on the day.
The minister said talks with resume soon after consultations in the respective capitals. There will be further discussions next week.
A separate CNN report said Iran affirmed it will never have nuclear weapons.
Update: A report on Iranian TV says signs indicate than an agreement is imminent. I'd be careful with that one as obviously they don't know Trump.
In any case, this is more oil-negative news.
Update 2: Now a US official talking with Axios said the nuclear talks were positive.
Update 3: Iran's foreign minister said there will be technical talks in Vienna on Monday. He said they have entered serious talks about sanctions relief and the nuclear issue.
His message:
We have finished the day after significant progress in the negotiation between the United States and Iran. We will resume soon after consultation in the respective capitals. Discussions on a technical level will take place next week in Vienna. I am grateful to all concerned for their efforts: the negotiators, the IAEA, and our hosts the Swiss government.
The oil market is still holding up near $65.00 as the market waits for something from Trump or some proper US official.
