The frontrunner for the nomination for the next Fed Chair, Kevin Hassett is speaking on CNBC and says:

  • Powell has done a good job at herding the cats.
  • We should continue to get the rate down some
  • We need to watch the data. We have a lot of missing data
  • The president has a guaranteed good choice for the Fed Chair role
  • The way the problem gets fixed is real wages go higher, so the real standard of living goes up
  • Positive supply shocks should help economy
  • Inflation hurts everybody in the economy.
  • Plenty of room for the 10 year to go down.
  • There is a lot of positive news the Pres. will be announcing in the economy
  • There are 30 new factories opening in the US
  • We did take a look at consumer sentiment and it tends to crater during a government shutdown.
  • On ACA subsidies, there is room for negotiation

Hassett is the runaway favorite on Polymarket to be the next Fed Chair nominee.
