The frontrunner for the nomination for the next Fed Chair, Kevin Hassett is speaking on CNBC and says:
- Powell has done a good job at herding the cats.
- We should continue to get the rate down some
- We need to watch the data. We have a lot of missing data
- The president has a guaranteed good choice for the Fed Chair role
- The way the problem gets fixed is real wages go higher, so the real standard of living goes up
- Positive supply shocks should help economy
- Inflation hurts everybody in the economy.
- Plenty of room for the 10 year to go down.
- There is a lot of positive news the Pres. will be announcing in the economy
- There are 30 new factories opening in the US
- We did take a look at consumer sentiment and it tends to crater during a government shutdown.
- On ACA subsidies, there is room for negotiation
Hassett is the runaway favorite on Polymarket to be the next Fed Chair nominee.
