Russian central bank raises key rate to 20% to fend off risks of ruble depreciation

  • The previous rate was 9.5%

At the same time, the Russian finance ministry is reportedly set to introduce mandatory FX sales for companies. That being Russian companies will have to sell 80% of their FX revenue. This ties together with the headline move by the Bank of Russia to curb attempts to destabilise the ruble.
