Fed's Bullard says he thinks both the Fed & ECB will achieve a 'relatively soft landing'

Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis President James Bullard says it appears to him that both the Federal Reserve and European Central Bank may be able to reduce inflation in an orderly manner and thus achieve a relatively soft landing.

I don't know how Bullard defines a 'relatively' soft landing. When your neighbour loses his or her job but you don't, I guess?
