- Core inflation is still too high
- ECB needs to see sustained decline in core inflation
- Headline inflation could fall below core but policy would still have to remain restrictive then
Again, this sort of strong clarification could have been avoided if Lagarde was clearer in her press conference last week. But oh well, here we are now.
