ECB's Kazaks says hopes that first rate hike will take place in July

  • ECB policymakers continue to solidify plans for a move in July

It is very much a given now and the question isn't so much so if the ECB will act in July but rather by how much. I still doubt the case for a 50 bps rate move and hold my reservations for a significant push above 0% - at least for now. We'll see how policymakers will try and push for that as the economy starts to face recession risks in the months ahead.
