ECB's de Guindos: Future rate hikes will depend on incoming data

  • Remarks by ECB vice president, Luis de Guindos
  • ECB fully committed to 2% inflation target
  • Italy's problems are related to high public debt levels
  • ECB has instruments to fight fragmentation
  • Tools are not designed for any specific country

Nothing new here by de Guindos but if anything else, there is still a decent chance that the ECB may raise key rates by another 75 bps next month. For now, that door is still being kept open.
