Bank of Canada Governor Macklem with some comments after the Bank cut rates again this week:

Macklem:

• low inflation has been restored
• the threat of tariffs is having a bigger impact on the Canadiaon dollar than is the interest rate differential with the US
• can mitigate tariff impact to avoid abrupt changes
• household debt is not sustainable re growth in consumption
