Analyst tips a slump in the economy will delay the first FOMC rate hike until June 2022

And this will "boost speculation that the Fed could begin raising interest rates as soon as the mid-March" meeting.

Analysts at CapEco go on to say they expect the first hike to be delayed until June 2022, citing:

  • "on balance, we expect that renewed weakness in the economy will convince officials to delay the lift-off date"
