Comments from European Central Bank Executive Board Member and chief economist, Peter Praet in an interview published on Saturday
With Belgian newspaper De Standaard
- "Underlying inflationary pressure remains subdued"
- "Inflation is picking up"
- "But that is a process that is a long way from completion"
- "The process of reflation is a long one that remains highly dependent on accommodative monetary policy"
Praet adding t the voices out of the European Central Bank - there are differences of opinion still on when to dial back stimulus, sending dissonant messages out to the market.
(ps. I'm doing a bit of a catch up on weekend news for the next few posts)
