Poll of economists by Reuters: Bank of England to hike on Nov 2
- No change was expected in Sept 1 poll
- 31 of 50 economists expect hike compared to only 3 expecting hike before year-end in Sept 1 poll
- 35 of 47 economists say now is the right time for the Bank of England to be raising rates
- Half of economists say BOE to hike to 0.75% at some point next year
So less than three weeks ago, almost no economists thought the BOE would hike or wanted them to hike. Skip ahead to after a speech from Carney where he pretty much said "we're going to hike" and now they all think it's the right thing to do.
What a joke.
These guys position themselves as wizards with all the answers but they're glorified interpreters and yes-men.
