Fed’s Williams: QE3 is a close call

• Must weigh costs, benefits
• Economy has performed pretty well
• Limited headroom for buying Treasuries in QE3
• Purchase of mortgage bonds still feasible

At least he acknowledges the economy is improving. That’s a step in the right direction…
