Fed's Kaplan: Expects US economy to remain healthy, no recession coming

Comments by Dallas Fed president, Robert Kaplan, in Beijing

  • Does not see a downturn in the US economy
  • US should start to moderate debt growth now
  • But move to moderate debt growth could create headwind for US economy

Nothing notable and certainly nothing new from Kaplan so far. Do be reminded that he's not a voting member on the FOMC this year, so if anything else, his comments will hold little weight when compared to other Fed members.
