Failure to raise US debt limit would be worse than government shut down says Moody’s

They say a US government shut down would not affect the US being able to meet debt repayments and they expect the debt limit to be raised. US government would continue to pay interest on treasuries in a debt ceiling impasse.

The ratings agencies are no doubt circling like hawks over the US debt situation.
