ECB's Lane says that there will be more precise rate hike debate next summer

Comments by ECB member Philip Lane

  • Says that ECB expects inflation pressures to pick up through 2020
  • As of today, aggregate inflation pressure isn't that strong
  • ECB has a robust forecast, strategy isn't fragile
  • Says that he stands ready to serve on the ECB board next year if needed

Nothing new really from Lane here. The ECB is still currently expected to only raise rates at around October next year and the rhetoric of "through the summer of 2019" remains unchanged still.
