Q1 2015 BOE credit conditions survey 13 April 2016
- Secured lending for home purchases increased in Q2 is is expected to increase slightly in Q2
- Secured credit to households unchanged
- Availability of unsec credit to households up slightly
- Availability of credit to corps unchanged, SME applications rose of the 4th straight qtr
- Demand for corp lending fell slightly. Demand from SME and mid-size firms expected to increase in Q2
- Loan spreads on secured household lending widened significantly. Spreads on credit card lending rose
- Default rates in secured household loads fell. Default on CC lending unchanged
Fill your boots with the full report here. By and large the debt situation is still massive in the UK but it's still down from the pre-crisis peaks. The main thing with debt is that it's partly ok when there's wage growth. It's when there's not that debt climbs out of control.
