BOC's Wilkins: Canadian rates are already quite stimulative

The Fed may have taped up their gobs but the rest are making up for it today

  • Neutral rate could fall without higher productivity

  • Slow global growth poses risks to financial stability

  • Fiscal policy is a powerful tool to promote growth

  • There's less chance for mon pol to work and low growth

She sees the BOC's policy rate of 0.50% as "quite stimulative". Perhaps they should throw in some QE for good measure, you know, just to make sure ;-)
