The turnaround in stocks underpinned a rise in USD/JPY to 101.96, which edges above rumored Japanese exporter offers at 101.95. There are $1.14B in options expiring at 102.00 at the top of the hour. Once we get past the expiration, I think the bias is to the upside and there are no offers until Friday’s high at 102.29 and nothing sizeable until 102.50 or just below.
