The BOJ didn’t make any changes to policy, nor had it been expected to do so, and the market must now await the press conference which doesn’t take place for another 4 hours.
USD/JPY is still edging lower and it looks like short-term players might have gotten themeselves a bit long on the back of the Fitch downgrade and are now being squeezed out. Support is expected to be solid near 79.50.
