"Reality leaves a lot to the imagination"

John Lennon was assassinated December 8, 1980

That quote from John Lennon is especially true of markets. I can tell you precisely the range the euro has traded in every day of its existence.

The reality is that it's down 56 pips to 1.0893 today. Why? That leaves a lot to the imagination.

Another great quote from Lennon is this one:

"The more I see the less I know for sure."

The people who have watched (and succeeded) in markets for a lifetime are the humblest. Carl Ichan often says he has no idea where the market is going.

Trading is about trying to find a little edge and then managing risk and exploiting it as much as possible. It's great to have been short oil for the past year but how much money did you make? If you can't tolerate the volatility and feel you need to know why it fell 2% today and then bounced back, it's going to be tough.
