SpendTrend data shows bounce in February

US consumer spending rose 2.3% y/y in February after a tepid 1.1% rise the month before, according to First Data SpendTrend.

The US consumer had a solid year in 2014, with purchases up 2.5%. That's expected to accelerate to 3.3%, in part due to lower gasoline prices.
